How this calculator works
The calculator converts the entered pay frequency to an annual amount, applies the selected Australian tax, Medicare, study-loan and super settings, then converts the estimate back to annual, monthly, fortnightly and weekly figures.
What is included
- Resident, foreign-resident and working-holiday-maker income-tax settings for the selected year.
- Medicare levy and surcharge, compulsory study-loan repayments and selected super arrangements.
- Entered bonuses, overtime, other income, deductions, fringe benefits and novated-lease settings.
What is not included
- PAYG withholding differences, tax already withheld and the final outcome of a tax return.
- Offsets, rebates, deductions or personal circumstances that are not offered as calculator inputs.
- Changes to rates or rules outside the selected tax year.
Worked example
For 2026–27, a $100,000 salary excluding employer super produces estimated take-home pay of $77,480 a year, or about $6,457 a month, for an Australian resident claiming the tax-free threshold with private hospital cover, no HELP debt and no other adjustments.
