How this calculator works

The calculator estimates employer super and combines it with selected salary-sacrifice, personal and spouse contributions. It checks the concessional cap and estimates the income-tax and contributions-tax effect of salary sacrifice.

What is included

  • Employer super guarantee settings for 2025–26 and 2026–27.
  • Salary sacrifice, after-tax personal contributions, spouse contributions and eligible carry-forward amounts.
  • Concessional-cap warnings, spouse offset estimates and Division 293 estimates.

What is not included

  • Investment returns, fund fees, insurance premiums and changes in a super balance over time.
  • Retirement-income projections or a recommendation about how much to contribute.
  • Fund-specific rules and a final assessment by a super fund or the ATO.

Worked example

On a $100,000 salary excluding super, employer super is $12,000. Salary-sacrificing another $500 a month produces $18,000 of concessional contributions; the calculator's income-tax comparison shows a $1,800 reduction, $900 contributions tax and $900 net tax saving.
